About NFL Street 2
EA Tiburon developed NFL Street 2, and Electronic Arts released it on December 26, 2004 under its EA Sports BIG label, for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox. A PSP version followed in 2005 as NFL Street 2 Unleashed. Then-New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey and rapper Xzibit are on the cover. This page covers the PS2 version.
It keeps the arcade style of the first game and adds running moves, including the juke, spin, wall move, wall juke, stiff arm and hurdle, which all earn style points. The new Gamebreaker 2 asks for a second 100,000 style points; once called, it plays a cutscene and then gives you unlimited turbo and a runner who breaks every tackle. Own The City is the new career mode: you create a player, recruit talent in pick-up games around Bay City and work up to Xzibit’s team of NFL stars. NFL Challenge gives you 150 days to build a team, and the final round pits you against the NFL Legends. Rosters cover all 32 teams of the 2004 season.
How it runs in your browser
NIL Street is a fan site by Iggna. It runs the PS2 game on a fork of snuri00’s PS2 Web Recomp engine, which recompiles the game to WebAssembly and draws with WebGPU. Pressing Play opens nilstreet.playthecombine.com in a new tab. The game downloads in pieces as you play and stays cached, so there’s no disc image to supply, and the site says the second visit starts faster.
There’s no account to make; the site says accounts will arrive with ranked matches. For online games, pick a display name on the Online tab, create a room and share the link or six-letter code. Saves stay in your browser, and Settings can export or import the memory card. Settings also offer resolutions up to 6x, an HD texture pack and an option to skip the intro movies.
On 3 November 2026, in desktop Chrome, pressing Start booted the game to its NFL Street 2 loading screen at 60 fps. It was still loading two minutes later, so give the first start some time.
Controls and devices
Player 1 can always use the keyboard. Z is ✕, X is ○, A is □ and S is △. Q and W are L1 and R1, and 1 and 2 are L2 and R2. I, J, K and L work the left stick, the arrow keys are the D-pad, Enter is Start, Backspace is Select and F switches to full screen. Click the game first so it has focus.
The site lists Xbox One and Series pads, DualShock 4, DualSense and most standard USB or Bluetooth controllers. The first controller is player 1, and up to four players can join on one computer. Its FAQ names Chrome, Edge or Safari on a desktop or laptop, although an October patch note mentions iPhone and iPad. We haven’t tested a phone.
Who it’s for
It suits fans of NFL Street who want the sequel’s new moves and Own The City mode, and groups who want to share one screen with controllers.
