About Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3
Neversoft developed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and Activision released it on the PlayStation 2 in October 2001. The same game reached the GameCube that November and the Xbox, Windows and Mac over the following year or so. The original PlayStation and Nintendo 64 editions ran on the older Pro Skater 2 engine, and the Game Boy releases were separate games. The PS2 version hosted here is the main release.
The third entry added the revert: tap a button as you land on a quarterpipe and you roll straight into a manual, which links vert tricks to ground tricks so combos can run much longer than in the first two games. It also brought hidden combos, such as tapping the kickflip button twice for a double kickflip. Levels are built around lists of career goals, and the roster has thirteen pro skaters plus unlockable guests that include Darth Maul, Wolverine and Doomguy. The PS2 version was the first in the series with online play, and it holds a 97 on Metacritic, tied with Grand Theft Auto III for the highest score of any PS2 game there.
How it runs in your browser
The browser version is a fan project by Slayoner. It runs the PS2 release on snuri00’s browser runtime, which is built on WebAssembly and WebGPU. Pressing Play opens tonyhawkpro3.online in a new tab. The site fetches the game data by itself, so there is nothing to install and no disc image to supply. Once the game is on screen, click inside it so it starts receiving your key presses.
The host also offers private rooms with chat. Its English guide says the two-player mode in this game hasn’t been tested online, so a room may connect without every mode working for two skaters at once. Saving isn’t listed as a feature, so plan on shorter sessions rather than finishing the career in one sitting.
Controls and devices
Both a keyboard and a game controller work. A controller is closer to the PS2 pad the game was built around, and it makes timing reverts and manuals easier than tapping keys. The key layout isn’t listed here, so check the host’s page or the game’s own options once it loads.
Use a current Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Phones aren’t listed as supported, and a browser without WebGPU may not start the game at all.
Who it’s for
This suits players who learned to chain combos on a PS2 in the early 2000s and want to find out whether the timing is still there, without setting up an emulator. It is also a way to compare the original with the 2025 remake in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. If skating against a friend online is the main draw, keep expectations modest until the host confirms two-player support. For other games with online play, see our multiplayer list.
Is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Free, Safe and Official?
Can I skate with a friend online in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3?
Possibly, but don’t count on it. The host has private rooms with chat, yet its own guide says this game’s two-player mode hasn’t been tested online, so treat online sessions as experimental.
Is this the official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3?
No. It’s a fan project by Slayoner that runs the PS2 version in a browser. It isn’t made or endorsed by Activision or Neversoft.
Which browser should I use for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3?
A current Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. The runtime depends on WebAssembly and WebGPU, which older browsers may not support.
