About MiSide

On the surface, MiSide looks like a game about looking after a cheerful character named Mita in a simple mobile-style game. That premise does not last. Before long you find yourself pulled inside that game and into Mita’s world, and the friendly tone starts to slip into something much stranger.

The game comes from the small studio AIHASTO and was published by IndieArk, launching on Steam in December 2024. It mixes cozy scenes, minigames and psychological horror, and much of its appeal comes from not knowing where it is going next. If you haven’t played it, the less you read about the story beforehand, the better.

How the web port works

The browser version is an unofficial fan port credited to “crackers” and hosted on wasm.rip. It plays right on this page with nothing to install, and you don’t need to provide your own game files.

Progress saving isn’t listed for the port, so be prepared to play through in one sitting or to replay sections if you close the tab. Treat it as a way to try the game; the Steam release is the complete version with its own save system and its developer’s support.

Controls and devices

Like the PC original, the port is meant for a computer with a keyboard and mouse. It isn’t listed as working on phones, and controllers aren’t supported. Its key layout isn’t documented here, so check the game’s settings if a control doesn’t respond the way you expect.

A quiet room and a pair of headphones suit a story like this one, where small changes in mood and sound do a lot of the work.

Who it’s for

MiSide is for players who like story-driven horror with a twist, especially games that play with the idea of a cute surface hiding something darker. Fans of games such as Doki Doki Literature Club, which built its reputation on the same kind of turn, will recognize the approach. It is less suited to anyone looking for action or combat, since most of the tension comes from atmosphere and surprises rather than fights.
