About Bendy and the Ink Machine
Joey Drew Studios released Bendy and the Ink Machine in chapters starting in 2017, as a first-person horror game that mixes exploration, puzzles and some combat. You play Henry, a former animator who returns to Joey Drew Studios decades after leaving, at the invitation of his old boss. The studio he finds is deserted, flooded with ink and haunted by the characters it once drew, above all its grinning cartoon devil, Bendy.
The look is the hook: sepia tones, dripping ink and the rubber-hose style of 1930s cartoons. Between scares, you explore the studio, gather items, solve puzzles to get its machinery running and avoid whatever is hunting you.
The version here is a fan port by crackers & slqnt. Which chapters it includes isn’t listed.
How it runs in your browser
The port plays right on this page, loaded from wasm.rip, a site that hosts fan-made browser ports of PC games. Nothing needs to be downloaded, and you don’t need your own copy of the game.
Saving isn’t listed for this version, so it’s best to play in longer sittings and not count on a checkpoint carrying over to your next visit. The game is meant for a desktop browser; phones aren’t supported.
Controls and devices
Like the PC original, it’s a first-person game for keyboard and mouse: you walk, look around and interact with objects in the world. Controller support isn’t listed, and specific key bindings aren’t listed here. Click into the game so it can capture the mouse for looking around; Esc usually releases it.
If looking around feels sluggish, close other tabs and make sure your browser is up to date. A 3D game in a browser leans harder on your computer than a page full of text does.
Tips
Play with headphones. Much of the tension comes from sound, and noises in the studio are often your first warning that something is close. Search rooms slowly, since the items puzzles depend on are easy to miss in dim corners. Turning up your screen brightness a little helps in the darkest areas without spoiling the mood. And when something starts chasing you, keep moving rather than stopping to look back.
