About Lobotomy Corporation
Lobotomy Corporation is a 2018 management sim from Project Moon, an independent studio from South Korea. You act as the manager of a facility that holds Abnormalities, strange and often deadly creatures and objects, and turns the work done with them into energy. The developer lists Warehouse 13, the SCP Foundation and the film The Cabin in the Woods as influences, and that blend of office routine and horror runs through the whole game.
Each in-game day you order employees to carry out different kinds of work with the Abnormalities in your care. Good results bring in energy toward the day’s quota. Bad results can injure or kill staff, or let a creature escape and set off a containment breach you then have to put down. Over time you open new departments, learn more about each Abnormality, and outfit your agents with equipment drawn from the creatures themselves. It’s a roguelite, so setbacks are part of the design, and replaying days with what you learned is normal.
Project Moon’s later games, Library of Ruina and Limbus Company, are set in the same world.
