About WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011
Yuke’s developed WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 and THQ released it in October 2010, with versions for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation Portable. It was the last game in the series to use the SmackDown vs. Raw name before the yearly releases were renamed starting with WWE ’12.
The version linked here is the PSP release. It puts the series’ mix of strikes, grapples and finishing moves into a handheld game built around the WWE roster of 2010.
How it runs in your browser
This build comes from Slayoner’s PSP Web Recomp project and opens on its own site, wwe2011.online, in a new tab. Nothing needs to be installed.
Online play is the standout extra. A private room gives you a code to pass to a friend so they can join you, while a public room is open to anyone who finds it. Each room holds two players. The host describes online play as experimental, so it may not always be stable, and it’s worth trying a second room if one fails to connect.
Save support isn’t listed, so don’t count on any progress being kept from one visit to the next. That makes it best for quick matches rather than long modes.
Controls and devices
You can play with a keyboard or plug in a game controller. A controller is a natural fit, since the game was designed around the PSP’s buttons. It’s meant for a computer: phones and tablets aren’t supported. A full key list isn’t published here, so check the site for the current layout before your first match.
Who it’s for
It’s a good fit for fans of the 2000s-era WWE games who want a quick match, or a one-on-one bout with a friend in another house, without setting anything up first. If you have a controller, plug it in before you load the game so it is ready from the first menu.
