About PES 6
Konami’s 2006 entry launched on PS2, Xbox 360 and PC, then reached the DS and PSP. American players knew it as Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007. It also marked the series’ debut on both the Xbox 360 and the DS. Many longtime fans still point to it as the best of the PS2-era Pro Evolution games.
The browser version is a fan project by OptiProjects. It starts from the PSP edition, recompiled for the web, and layers on some additions: more leagues, on-screen touch controls and online play.
How it runs in your browser
PES 6 plays right on this page, loaded from pes6.optijuegos.net. There is nothing to download or install, and you don’t need your own copy of the game.
Online play goes through the game’s Wireless menu. On the PSP, that part of the menu was for playing nearby friends over a local connection; here it is the way into online matches.
The host site’s text is written in Spanish, so expect Spanish around the game. Your browser’s translation feature can help with the site itself. Saving isn’t listed for this version, so don’t count on league progress carrying over between visits.
Controls and devices
PES 6 works on phones as well as computers. On a phone, touch controls appear on the screen; turning the phone sideways gives you more room for the pitch and the buttons. On a computer, you play with the keyboard. Controller support isn’t listed, so don’t rely on a gamepad.
The exact key layout isn’t listed here. Check the game’s own controls screen before your first match so passing and shooting don’t catch you out.
Who it’s for
This version suits anyone with fond memories of PES 6, especially the PSP edition, and anyone who wants a full football match in a browser tab or on a phone. The online matches mean you can play a real opponent rather than the computer. For more games with online play, see our multiplayer list.
