About Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition
Rockstar San Diego released Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PSP. It’s the third game in the series and, like the others, an arcade racer that cares about speed and spectacle far more than realistic handling. Races take place across open cities you can drive through freely between events.
The name comes from a partnership with DUB Magazine, which shows up in the game as DUB-sponsored races and custom cars you can win. Customization is a large part of the appeal: performance upgrades sit alongside visual changes such as paint, body kits and rims, so the car you race becomes your own.
How it runs in your browser
The browser version is based on the PSP release and was made by Slayoner. It’s hosted on midnighhtclub3.online, and pressing Play opens that site in a new tab. You don’t need to install anything or provide your own game files.
The host includes an online lobby, so you can race other people as well as play on your own. Saving isn’t listed as supported, so don’t expect career progress to carry over between visits.
Controls and devices
Both a keyboard and a game controller work. A controller is usually the more comfortable choice for a racing game, since an analog stick gives you finer steering than on-off key presses. The exact key layout isn’t listed here, so check the host’s page or the in-game settings once it loads.
Phones aren’t listed as supported. Plan on a desktop or laptop browser.
Who it’s for
It suits players who remember mid-2000s street racers and want to revisit Midnight Club without digging out a PSP or PS2. Because it has an online lobby, it also works for anyone who wants to race real people from a browser without installing a game. For other games with online play, see our multiplayer list.
