About Horsey Game
Horsey Game came out on Steam for Windows and macOS on February 18, 2026. It’s made by Captain Games, the studio name of Justin Smith, who is best known for the minimalist golf game Desert Golfing. It’s a single-player, pixel-art game and a small one, needing about 60 MB of disk space on PC.
Steam sums it up in four steps: collect horses, breed horses, race horses and genetically modify horses. Money runs through all of it: the store page opens by asking whether you like horses, money or both, then pitches horse racing. Two horses can be bred the usual way, or, as the store page puts it, you can use CRISPR if you’re in a hurry. You can aim to build a horse paradise or simply get rich. The store tags fill in the rest of the picture: creature collector, life sim, sandbox, gambling, management, science and transhumanism, with procedurally generated content and physics.
Players have received it well. Its Steam reviews are rated Overwhelmingly Positive, with 96% of more than 2,700 English reviews recommending it.
How it runs in your browser
This is an unofficial web port by crackers, listed on wasm.rip and hosted on GitHub Pages. It runs the game in the browser with WebAssembly, and pressing Play opens the port’s page in a new tab. You don’t need your own copy of the game.
Browser support is the main thing to check first. The page needs Chrome or Edge 137 or later, because it relies on a newer WebAssembly feature. In a browser without it, the page shows a short message asking you to use Chrome or Edge, and the game doesn’t load. The page doesn’t say how saving works, so don’t count on a long session being kept.
Controls and devices
The port passes keyboard and mouse input to the game, including the mouse wheel. It has no on-screen controls and no controller support listed. Use a desktop or laptop running Chrome or Edge; phones haven’t been tested.
Who it’s for
It suits players who heard about Horsey Game and want to see what the fuss is about before buying it, and fans of Desert Golfing curious about its creator’s latest game. It’s also a fit for anyone who likes management sims with a strange sense of humor. For a full playthrough with Steam Cloud saves and achievements, the official release on Steam is the better home.
