About Ages of Conflict
Ages of Conflict: World War Simulator hands you a map and a set of nations, then lets the computer take over. The game comes from JoySpark Games and entered Early Access on Steam in February 2023. Rather than commanding every army yourself, you set the stage: create nations, place them on a map, and watch the AI fight over territory as borders shift and empires rise and fall.
You can also paint your own maps and scenarios, then step in to steer nations toward the history you want. That makes it closer to a sandbox or an experiment than a traditional strategy game. Much of the fun is in setting up a starting situation and seeing how it plays out.
How the web port works
The browser version is an unofficial port credited to sexyplankton and hosted on wasm.rip. It plays right here on our page, with nothing to install and no files to supply.
Because the AI does the fighting, you don’t need other players; it is a solo experience, and online play isn’t listed for the port. Saving isn’t listed either, so maps and scenarios you build may not be there the next time you visit. If you spend a while painting a detailed world, plan to watch it play out in the same session.
Controls and devices
Play on a computer. Painting maps and working through menus suits a mouse, and the port isn’t listed as working on phones. Controllers aren’t supported. There is no key list for the port here, so explore the on-screen tools to see what each one does.
Who it’s for
Ages of Conflict is for people who enjoy watching simulations unfold, building alternate-history scenarios or running what-if wars between made-up countries. It is a relaxed game in the sense that you can sit back and let a war run, but it rewards tinkering: small changes to a starting map can lead to very different outcomes.
