About How to Fish

A boat trip goes badly, you crash into a small island, and the only way back home is to learn how to fish. That’s the setup of How to Fish, a 2026 physics-based fishing game from Dazed Games, released on PC in August 2026.

Everything runs on physics, and the controls are rough on purpose, so part of the fun is wrestling with them while you try to land a catch and work your way off the island. The original supports one to four players, and its silly premise sets the tone for the rest of the game.

It suits players who enjoy physics comedy games, where clumsy controls are part of the joke rather than a flaw, and anyone who wants a low-pressure game to try in a browser tab before deciding whether to buy the full version.

How it runs in your browser

The browser version is an unofficial port by NotRexed. It loads from wasm.rip and plays right here on this page, so there’s nothing to install.

The browser version has no online play, so the group side of the original isn’t available here; you’ll be fishing alone. Progress saving isn’t listed for the port either, so plan on playing in one sitting or starting fresh next time.

How to Fish is a very recent release, and this port appeared soon after the official game came out. Ports of new commercial games are especially likely to be removed at the rights holder’s request, so this one may not stay available for long. If you enjoy it, the official version on Steam is the way to play with friends, since that’s where the multiplayer lives, and it supports the studio that made the game.

Controls and devices

Use a computer with a keyboard and mouse. Phones won’t work, and controller support isn’t listed. No key list is published, so check the game’s settings or on-screen prompts when you start. Expect the first few casts to go wrong while you get a feel for the physics.
