About Seedbed
Seedbed puts you in charge of a region in a solarpunk future, a setting built around clean technology and communities trying to live well with it. The game spans a full century, from 2027 to 2127, and your main levers are the systems that connect places: rail lines and clean energy.
The twist is that the towns are not yours to run. Each one runs its own affairs, including how it responds to artificial intelligence and to a climate that keeps heating up. You plan the region around those decisions instead of issuing orders, which makes the role closer to a steward than to the all-powerful mayor of a classic city builder.
Seedbed is an original web game made by its own developer. It is not a port of an older PC or console title.
How it runs in your browser
The game loads right here on this page, embedded from the developer’s site, playseedbed.com. There is nothing to download or install. If the embedded frame feels small on your screen, you can also open playseedbed.com in its own tab and play there.
Progress saving isn’t listed for this game, so treat each session as one sitting unless the game itself offers to save. If you want to see the whole hundred years play out, start when you have time to stay with it.
Controls and devices
Seedbed is designed for a computer browser. Phone play isn’t listed and controller support isn’t mentioned, so use a mouse and keyboard. Strategy and simulation games of this kind tend to reward reading and planning more than quick reflexes, so you can take your time with each decision.
If the page feels slow, close other tabs and make sure your browser is up to date. A larger window also makes it easier to read the map and the information the game shows you.
Who it’s for
Seedbed suits players who enjoy slow, systems-heavy strategy and are curious about climate and technology themes. If transit maps, energy networks or games where the people you serve have minds of their own appeal to you, it is worth a session. Since it runs in a browser tab with no setup, it’s easy to try before deciding whether it’s your kind of game.
