About Geometría Conurbano
Geometría Conurbano is a browser fan game by Lauta, the fan developer behind our Mortal Kombat 9 and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection listings. It is modeled closely on Geometry Dash, the rhythm platformer that Robert Topala released through his company RobTop Games for iOS and Android in 2013 and later brought to PC. The name is a local joke: the Conurbano is the ring of suburbs around Buenos Aires, so the title reads roughly as “Suburban Geometry.” The in-game credits describe it as an independent, non-profit project made by fans and swap RobTop for a parody studio called PuTop Games. It isn’t made or endorsed by RobTop Games.
The idea is the same as the original. Your icon moves forward on its own through a level of spikes, blocks and gaps, and one button makes it jump, so the whole game is about timing each move to the music. Touching an obstacle sends you back to the start. Portals change your form, such as the ship, which climbs while you hold the button and dips when you let go, and jump orbs and pads give extra boosts. The level list follows Geometry Dash’s main levels, starting with Stereo Madness and Back On Track, and credits the songs to the original composers, such as DJVI and Waterflame.
How it runs in your browser
The game is built with the Phaser 3 engine and runs on Lauta’s site, which opens in a new tab when you press Play. There’s nothing to install and no account to make. Most menus are in English, with a few notes in Spanish. The game’s news panel says it works entirely offline, covering the levels, the editor, icons and settings, with no server or sign-in behind it. The menus do include an online level browser, but given that note, don’t count on it.
Practice mode, opened from the pause menu, lets you place checkpoints by hand or have them placed automatically. You can change your icon and its colors, and the settings include hitbox display, an FPS counter and a low detail mode for slower computers. The level editor lets you build your own stages, which are stored in your browser, and import levels saved as .gmd files.
Controls and devices
Space, the up arrow or W makes you jump, and clicking works too. Holding the key keeps you jumping, and with the ship it keeps you climbing. The built-in tutorial talks about tapping the screen, but we haven’t tested the game on a phone. A keyboard on a desktop or laptop gives the most reliable timing.
Who it’s for
It suits Geometry Dash players who want to run the classic levels on a computer without the official game, and anyone who likes building levels and testing them straight away. If you want RobTop’s newer levels, online level sharing and official updates, the real Geometry Dash is the place to go.
