About Geometry Dash
Geometry Dash is a rhythm platformer made by Swedish developer Robert Topala and published by his company, RobTop Games. It came out on iOS and Android on August 13, 2013, reached Windows Phone in June 2014 and arrived on PC on December 22, 2014. The full game runs on the Cocos2d-x engine.
You control an icon and guide it through a level, avoiding obstacles along the way. Most stages scroll forward on their own, so the challenge is timing your moves to the music and the layout in front of you. The full game has 26 developer-made levels: 22 of them auto-scroll, and four are platformer levels. Stereo Madness, the level in this demo, is the first of them. It also comes with a level editor, and players can share what they build online and play levels made by everyone else.
How it runs in your browser
This is RobTop Games’ own demo, hosted on the official site, geometrydash.com. The demo plays right here on this page, loaded from geometrydash.com/game/, the same player RobTop shows on the official site’s home page. There’s nothing to install and no account to create. Because it comes straight from the developer, this is RobTop’s own version of the level rather than a fan recreation.
The demo contains exactly one level: Stereo Madness, the opening stage of the full game. According to a Phaser news post from June 15, 2026, the web demo is built with Phaser, a JavaScript game engine, rather than the Cocos2d-x engine behind the full release. Whether your progress is kept between visits isn’t stated, so treat each session as a fresh start.
When you want more, the complete game is sold on Steam for PC and through the iOS and Android app stores.
Controls and devices
We don’t have a published control list for the demo, so check the page when it loads. Keyboard, mouse and touch input are all listed. Geometry Dash began as a phone game, but we haven’t tried this web demo on a phone or a Chromebook, so a desktop or laptop is the safe choice.
Who it’s for
The demo suits anyone who wants to see what Geometry Dash is like before buying it, and players who just want a few runs at Stereo Madness in a spare minute. With nothing to install, it’s also a quick way to show a friend what the game is about. If you finish it and want more levels in a browser, two unofficial fan projects go further: Web Dashers, a modded build of this demo with the main levels up to 2.1, and Geometría Conurbano, a separate remake with practice mode and a level editor. Neither is made or endorsed by RobTop Games.
Is Geometry Dash Free, Safe and Official?
Can I play Geometry Dash online for free?
Yes, in part. RobTop Games has an official free web demo at geometrydash.com/game/ that lets you play level 1, Stereo Madness, in a browser. The rest of the game is in the full version on Steam and the mobile stores.
Is the Geometry Dash web demo official?
Yes. RobTop Games publishes it on its own site, geometrydash.com. A June 2026 news post from Phaser says the demo is built with the Phaser engine.
How many levels are in the Geometry Dash browser demo?
One: Stereo Madness, the game’s first level. Web Dashers, an unofficial fan build of the demo, adds the main levels up to update 2.1, but it isn’t made or endorsed by RobTop Games.
