About LEGO Island
LEGO Island came out for Windows in 1997, developed by Mindscape and published by LEGO Media. It drops you onto a small island built entirely from LEGO bricks and lets you wander it freely, which was unusual for a children’s game at the time. Most players remember it as Pepper Roni, the island’s pizza delivery boy, though four other islanders are playable too.
Nothing has to be done in a set order. You can deliver pizzas, race jet skis, take on ambulance and tow truck jobs, or put together your own vehicles in the island’s build shops. A loose story runs underneath it all: the Brickster breaks out of jail and starts taking the island apart, and it falls to Pepper to stop him. The goofy voice acting and cheerful soundtrack are a big part of why the game still has such a loyal following.
How it runs in your browser
isle.pizza is a fan web port of LEGO Island. It builds on a community project that decompiled the original game’s code, and that code is compiled to WebAssembly so it can run in a modern browser. It isn’t made or endorsed by the LEGO Group.
The port needs a cross-origin isolated page, a stricter browser security mode that unlocks features some WebAssembly programs depend on. An ordinary embedded frame on a site like ours can’t offer that, so pressing Play opens LEGO Island in our full-screen player, a separate page configured the way the port needs. Give the first launch a moment while the game loads.
Controls and devices
LEGO Island was designed for a keyboard and mouse. In the original PC game you steer your character and vehicles with the keyboard and click on people, buildings and objects to interact with them. This port is listed for keyboard and mouse only, so play on a desktop or laptop. Phones, tablets and controllers aren’t listed as supported.
Who it’s for
Anyone who played LEGO Island as a kid and wants to see the island again without tracking down an old CD and a Windows 98 machine. It also suits younger players, since there’s no real way to fail and no pressure to hurry. For other full PC games that run in a tab, browse our games list.
Is LEGO Island (isle.pizza) Free, Safe and Official?
Is this an official LEGO Island release?
No. isle.pizza is a fan project built on a community decompilation of the game, and it isn’t made or endorsed by the LEGO Group.
Why does LEGO Island open in a full-screen player?
The port needs a cross-origin isolated page, which an ordinary embedded frame can’t provide. Our full-screen player is set up that way, so the game can start there.
Can I play LEGO Island on a phone or Chromebook?
Neither is listed as supported. The game is built around a keyboard and mouse, so a desktop or laptop is the safest choice.
